Rodless Pneumatic
Will a 10m long size Pneumatic Cylinder effect the Flow Rate of a system?
Specification
0.4mpa
It is posibble to use a10m rodless pneumatic cylnder
If yes
Can it carry 40kg payload to a speed of 40m/s with the 10m meter long distance.
We need a lot more information…what is the bore size, what size accumulator are you using, what are the port sizes, tube sizes, etc?
Check my math…I’m doing it quick…
F=ma=mx”=m(dv/dt)=m(dv/dx)(dx/dt)=mv(dv/dx)
Integrate WRT x.
F(xf-xi)=.5mv^2
F=.5*m*v^2/x=(.5)*(50kg)*(40m/s)^2/10m
F=4,000N
P=F/A
A=F/P=4000/400000=.01m^2
A=pi*r^2
r=(A/pi)^.5=(.01m^2/3.14)^.5=(.00318m^2)^.5=.056m
D=2*.056=.112m
Therefore you need at least a 11.2 cm diameter cylinder at that pressure.
Vdot=40m/s*.01m^2=.4m^3/sec
Therefore you need to supply at least a peak of .4 cubic meters of air (at .4MPa) to attain that speed. If you plot the consumption curve, you can determine the necessary volume of air to perform the full stroke.
Notice, too, that the volumetric flow rate is dependent on the ports, fittings, and tubing that is used. These components will throttle down the flow rate and reduce the piston speed.

The 2009 Report on Non-Aerospace-Type Linear Pneumatic Fluid Power Cylinders with Bore Size of at Least 1-1/2 Inches Excluding Rodless, Aluminum, and Steel Types: World Market Segmentation by City $795.00 This report was created for global strategic planners who cannot be content with traditional methods of segmenting world markets. With the advent of a “borderless world”, cities become a more important criteria in prioritizing markets, as opposed to regions, continents, or countries. This report covers the top 2000 cities in over 200 countries. It does so by reporting the estimated market size (in… |
