My 1994 Ford E350 5.8L hesitates. When I first start the engine it runs great.?
The warmer the engine gets the worse it becomes.
I’ve given it a tune up (plugs, wires, distributor, PCV Valve, coil, and fuel filter).
It has $154,000 miles on it.
How much is a TFI to replace?
No check engine light.
How many miles are on it? You have to remember to post up the specifics. That van has a remotely mounted thick film ignition module (TFI). The engine will seem sluggish or “break up” when they get hot. Another part that does the same thing is the pick-up module inside the distributor under the rotor. It works in conjuction with the TFI. The distributor neds to be completely removed and disassembled in order to replace it. The plugs should be gapped at .054. Always gap new plugs even if the manufacturer says no need for gapping.
