Power steering, I need to know…?
Could anyone explain, in their own words, how power steering works, what rotary vane pumps are, rotary valves, torsion bars……

What will be the future of power steering?
Power steering uses a Hydraulic Pump to add pressure to the steering sector. When you turn the wheel, a valve opens and supplies fluid pressure so that there is less effort in steering. A vane pump has little flat pieces of metal in a round rotating disc with cutouts in the pump housing that when rotating provides pressure to the steering sector.
A torsion bar acts as a spring. Normally for the front end and can be adjusted to maintain the specs. for the height of the vehicle.
