Why is there so much bigotry towards a single man wanting to adopt kids?
The misandry on display is extreme. If a man wants to adopt kids (of either gender), that is considered ‘bad’ by women, who have no argument other than ‘how will you discuss her period with her’?
But a single mother (who merely was irresponsible to get pregnant by having sex with players) is considered a noble victim? Women are equally capable of child abuse, by the way.
Single guys adopting, or having kids via surrogates, is the wave of the future, particularly since the divorce laws are so anti-male, that many men are avoiding marriage. I think the women who protest just don’t like being bypassed, and thus can’t get their hooks into a man’s income.
Does anyone know of single guys who decided to go it alone as parents? Any stories you can relate?
I think that part of the problem is that almost all sexual predators are male and there is virtually no way to know if a man is a threat to the child or not. Being married can slightly lessen the potentiality of him being a pedophile looking for child custody.
Of course this doesn’t mean that you are a pedophile. Nor does it mean that you don’t deserve to adopt. Any good man who would be a good dad deserves to adopt.
It isn’t just men, though. Even single women have an extremely hard time trying to adopt. My aunt is a wonderful woman who loves children. She has been trying to adopt for over ten years now with no success. Her handicap is that she is single. There are lots of families who want to adopt and the adoption agencies would rather see those children go with stable married couples than with single parents simply because they believe that two parents can better provide for a child, even if that ends up not being necessarily true.
